Education & Training

Kornspire builds education platforms: learning delivery, assessment, student administration, accessible interfaces and low-bandwidth content delivery for institutions and training providers.

What we build

What we can build and run in this sector

Learning delivery platforms

Course and content structure, progress tracking, adaptive paths, and offline or low-bandwidth content access where required.

Assessment and certification

Question banks, timed assessment, proportionate integrity controls, marking workflow and verifiable completion records.

Student administration

Enrolment, cohorts and scheduling, fee records, attendance and reporting for institutional requirements.

Accessible interface engineering

WCAG 2.2 AA implementation, keyboard operability, screen-reader support, captioning workflow and readable typography at scale.

Low-bandwidth delivery

Adaptive media, aggressive caching, small initial payloads and graceful degradation on slow or intermittent connections.

Pressures

What this sector demands of the engineering

Education platforms are used by the widest possible range of devices and connections, frequently by people with no option to upgrade either. A design validated on a fast laptop excludes a substantial share of the intended audience. Accessibility is likewise a baseline requirement rather than a refinement, because the audience is compulsory rather than self-selecting.

01Learners access content on low-end devices and constrained bandwidth

02Accessibility is a baseline obligation, not an enhancement

03Assessment integrity must be protected without surveillance overreach

04Enrolment peaks concentrate load into short windows

05Learner data, often relating to minors, demands strict handling

Constraints

Regulatory and operational limits we design around

Engineering controls, not legal advice

We build and evidence the technical controls compliance depends on. Determining which obligations apply to your organisation is a matter for your legal and compliance advisers.

  • Data relating to children requires heightened care; the DPDP Act 2023 imposes specific obligations including verifiable parental consent
  • Accessibility obligations apply to public and institutional education providers
  • Assessment integrity measures must be proportionate and privacy-respecting
  • Academic records carry statutory retention and verification requirements

Answers

Education & Training: questions

Can a platform work for learners with very slow connections?

Yes, if that is a design constraint from the beginning rather than an optimisation afterwards. That means small initial payloads, adaptive media quality, caching that survives a dropped connection, and interfaces that remain usable while assets are still arriving. It is tested on throttled connections and low-end devices, not only in a development environment.

How is assessment integrity handled without invasive monitoring?

With proportionate controls: randomised question selection from a bank, time limits, question-level analytics that flag anomalies for human review, and server-side answer validation. We are cautious about intrusive proctoring — it raises privacy and accessibility problems, and it disadvantages learners whose circumstances differ from the assumed norm.
